3 Apr 2021 with ABI5 and appear to be involved in mediating stress responses. Induced by Transient Overexpression of Arabidopsis thaliana ABI5
Overexpression of ABI5 in Col-0 influences flowering time To assess the correlation between flowering time and ABI5 expression, overexpressing transgenic lines carrying plas-mid p35S::ABI5-HA in Col-0 background were generated. A total of 43 lines were analysed by examining ABI5-HA protein level in individual transgenic plants (Fig. 1A).
In the present study, we cloned the apple ABI5 gene and found that the MdABI5 protein was an interacting partner of MdbHLH3. Overexpression of MdABI5 promoted ABA-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis, which was partially dependent on MdbHLH3. ABI5 Binding Proteins (AFPs) are a family of negative regulators of bZIP transcription factors of the AREB/ABF family, which promote ABA responses. AFP2 interacts with Snf1-Related protein Kinase 1 (SnRK1), which belongs to a highly conserved heterotrimeric kinase complex that is activated to re-establish energy homeostasis following stress. In the abi5‐7 mutant, ABA hypersensitivity caused by PYL11 and PYL12 overexpression was totally or partially blocked. By contrast, ABI5 regulates the expression of PYL11 and PYL12 by directly binding to their promoters. Moreover, the expression of eight other PYLs is also affected during the germination of abi5 mutants.

ABI5 is necessary, but not sufficient, to maintain germinated embryos in a quiescent state, abscisic acid also being required for maintaining the quiescent state. By contrast, ABI5 regulates the expression of PYL11 and PYL12 by directly binding to their promoters. Genetic analyses indicated that the effect of mir159ab on vegetative phase change is ABI5 dependent.
Genetic evidence supports the idea that CAT1 functions downstream of ABI5 in ROS signaling during seed germi- nation.
Although it has been established that ABI5 delays flowering by up-regulating FLC (Wang et al., 2013b), it is unknown whether and how AFPs affect flowering time.Inthisstudy, wesoughttodeterminethepotential role of AFP2 in controlling flowering time. We showed that overexpression of AFP2 (AFP2-ox) substantially
(b) Analysis of the expression level of AtIPT8 by semi‐quantitative RT‐PCR. Seedlings were induced with 10 μ m estradiol for 24 h. The expression level of ACTIN2 represents the loading control.

Overexpression of ABI5 in plants to prevent precocious seed germination and to confer resistance to drought and high salt Mar 21, 2001 - The Rockefeller University The bZIP transcription factor ABI5 is shown to confer an enhanced response to exogenous abscisic acid during germination, seedling establishment and subsequent vegetative growth of plants.

Together, our results reveal a previously uncharacterized signaling module in which JAZ Moreover, overexpression of ABI5 (ABI5-OE-8) in the JAZ8-ΔJas ABI3-OE background rendered the transgenic lines much more sensitive to ABA and COR during seed germination . Similar data were also obtained when ABI3 and ABI5 were expressed in the JAZ5-ΔJas background ( Supplemental Figures 12C and 12D ).

2019-06-01 · However, the overexpression of ABI5 in the bes1-D background could not rescue the early-flowering phenotype . Because plants overexpressing ABI5 decreased the ABA insensitivity of bes1-D , it is indicated that ABI3-mediated negative regulation of the floral transition would be independent of ABI5 activity, at least under higher-BR-response conditions.

Indeed, stomatal aperture was significantly reduced by ABI5 overexpression in the absence or presence of ABA under monochromatic light conditions. Overall, we present a regulatory loop in which two light signalling proteins repress ABA signalling to sustain gas exchange when plants experience periodic drought. Noteworthily, we showed that down-regulation of NF-YC9 represses, but overexpression of NF-YC9 enhances, ABA-induced ABI5 expression (Fig.
